Seven Hills Fellowship

Dear church,

Psalm 86 reminds us how easily our hearts are split, our devotions divided. The psalmist asks the Lord to unify his heart in order that he might fear the Lord alone and praise him solely. Only then will we remember God’s love for us and love him in return. Let’s join this request, for the Lord to focus us and fill us with the fear and praise of his name.

(Feel free to read all readings and prayers out loud as well as sing along with the recordings.)

Call to Worship: Psalm 86:11-13

Read the following Call to Worship aloud

Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead.

Song: "Praise to the Lord, the Almighty"

Praise To The Lord The Almighty

Verse 1
Praise to the Lord
The Almighty the King of creation
O my soul praise Him
For He is thy health and salvation
All ye who hear
Now to His temple draw near
Praise Him in glad adoration

Verse 2
Praise to the Lord
Who o’er all things so wondrously reigneth
Shelters thee under His wings
Yea so gently sustaineth
Hast thou not seen
How thy desires e’er have been
Granted in what He ordaineth

Chorus
Hallelujah hallelujah
Hallelujah hallelujah

Verse 3
Praise to the Lord
Who doth prosper thy work and defend thee
Surely His goodness and mercy
Here daily attend thee
Ponder anew
What the Almighty can do
If with His love He befriend thee

Verse 4
Praise to the Lord
O let all that is in me adore Him
All that hath life and breath
Come now with praises before Him
Let the Amen sound from His people again
Gladly fore’er we adore Him

Song: "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing"

Come Thou Fount

Verse 1
Come Thou Fount of every blessing
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace
Streams of mercy never ceasing
Call for songs of loudest praise
Teach me some melodious sonnet
Sung by flaming tongues above
Praise the mount I’m fixed upon it
Mount of Thy redeeming love

Verse 2
Here I raise my Ebenezer
Hither by Thy help I’ve come
And I hope by Thy good pleasure
Safely to arrive at home
Jesus sought me when a stranger
Wandering from the fold of God
He to rescue me from danger
Interposed His precious blood

Verse 3
Oh to grace how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be
Let thy grace now like a fetter
Bind my wandering heart to Thee
Prone to wander Lord I feel it
Prone to leave the God I love
Heres my heart oh take and seal it
Seal it for Thy courts above

Confession & Assurance:

Read the following section of the Palatinate Liturgy aloud

I, a poor sinner, confess before you, my God and Creator, that I have grievously sinned against you in many ways, not only by gross outward sins, but much more through inward natural blindness, unbelief, doubts, despondency, impatience, pride, covetousness, secret envy, hatred, malice, and other sinful affections which you see in me, my Lord and God, and which, alas, I cannot always see in myself. I repent of these, and cry to you for your mercy, through your beloved Son Jesus Christ. Amen.  (Palatinate Liturgy, 1563)

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

Song: "Lord Have Mercy"

Lord Have Mercy

Verse 1
Jesus I’ve forgotten
The words that You have spoken
Promises that burned within my heart
Have now grown dim
With a doubting heart I follow
The paths of earthly wisdom
Forgive me for my unbelief
Renew the fire again

Chorus
Lord have mercy
Christ have mercy
Lord have mercy on me
Lord have mercy
Christ have mercy
Lord have mercy on me

Verse 2
I have built an altar
Where I’ve worshipped things of man
I have taken journeys
That have drawn me far from You
Now I am returning
To Your mercies ever flowing
Pardon my transgressions
Help me love You again

Verse 3
I have longed to know You
And all Your tender mercies
Like a river of forgiveness
Ever flowing without end
So I bow my heart before You
In the goodness of Your presence
Your grace forever shining
Like a beacon in the night

Song: "The Heart of Worship"

The Heart Of Worship

Verse 1
When the music fades all is stripped away
And I simply come
Longing just to bring something that’s of worth
That will bless Your heart

Pre-Chorus
I’ll bring You more than a song
For a song in itself is not what You have required
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You’re looking into my heart

Chorus
I’m coming back to the heart of worship
And it’s all about You all about You Jesus
I’m sorry Lord for the thing I’ve made it
When it’s all about You all about You Jesus

Verse 2
King of endless worth no one could express
How much You deserve
Though I’m weak and poor all I have is Yours
Ev’ry single breath

Sermon: Proverbs 4:23

Song: "Search My Heart"

Search My Heart

Verse 1
Search my heart and make it clean
Let it be an offering
Sweet and simple, unassuming
Touch my heart and give it words
To bring the light to the dark
To offer up a blessing for a curse
And overflow from these thirsty souls
That we might sing

Chorus
Freeing songs, speak healing words
Live with clean hands and heal this land
Nursing its wounds, offering truth
Instead of lies and bringing life

Verse 2
Form my heart, stir my soul
Til your thought is my will
When you’re speaking I am listening
You fill our hearts with your desires
And from our mouths what you inspire
Fills the world and offers up your grace
And overflow from these thirsty souls
That we might sing
