‘A church working towards the flourishing of our city’

Seven Hills Fellowship exists to help create a flourishing city through works of restoration, through ministries of reconciliation, through friendship, and through education that leads to transformation, all grounded in our worship of a holy and merciful God.

*Flourishing is a state of being where the effects of sin are undone.  The scope of those effects are spiritual, relational, intellectual, physical and even vocational.  As we engage in Restoration, Reconciliation, Friendship, Education and Worship those effects are progressively undone.

What makes Seven Hills distinct from other churches are our values.  Values are the principles to which we hold that determine how we do ministry.  Our values are as follows: The Gospel, Biblical Authority, Every Member a Minister, Accessibility and Human Dignity.

*Every organization has values.  Those values may either be stated or unstated but they drive the way an organization operates, the decisions they make and how that organization ‘feels’ to outsiders and insiders alike.

What We Do Values

Restoration: We are a community that seeks restoration, believing that the Gospel leads us not only to feel compassion for but also to work towards healing a broken world.

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.  And what does the Lord require of you?  To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. (Micah 6:8)

All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.  (2 Corinthians 5:18-19)

What We Believe Values

The Gospel: We believe that we are justified and sanctified by grace!

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.  For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.  (Ephesians 2:8-10)

Biblical Authority: We believe that the Bible is true and authoritative.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness…  (II Timothy 3:16)

Every Member a Minister:  We believe that people shouldn’t just GO to church but that people should BE the church.

Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.  (I Corinthians 12:7)

Accessibility: We believe that people should be able to come to 7HF as they are: physically, emotionally, and spiritually!

The blind and the lame came to him in the Temple, and he healed them.  The leading priests and the teachers of religious law saw these wonderful miracles and heard even the children in the Temple shouting, “Praise God for the Son of David.” But  the leaders were indignant.  They asked Jesus, “Do you hear what these children are saying?” “Yes,” Jesus replied. “Haven’t you ever read the Scriptures? For they say, ‘You have taught children and infants to give you praise.”   (Matthew 21:14-16)

Human Dignity: We believe that all people are created in the image of God and as a result are worthy of the utmost respect and dignity.

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.  (Genesis 1:27)
